Paducah KY to Grand Rivers KY (Mon, Oct 30). Left Paducah in rain, wind, and found ourselves in zones of light fog. About 11 miles in we traded the Ohio River for the Cumberland, yet still traveling against the current. Locked through Barkley in no time. Followed a looper boat, who was crossing their wake (i.e., completing their loop!, into Green Turtle Bay (GTB) marina where the sun was shining! Dinner at Patti’s. Home of mile high meringue pies (we didn’t take photos but if interested: https://www.pattis1880s.com/_files/ugd/65c79a_e6c228617f1b44f7b864b90e7827413e.pdf). For Michiganders, Patti’s is Zehnder’s and Bronner’s rolled into one, topped with a small farm (goats, peacocks, etc.) and miniature golf to boot. Very much enjoyed. It is never too early to celebrate Christmas!
Stayed at GTB until Thursday. Rob caught up on work. Frost on the docks made them slippery and slowed the walk to the very nice/clean showers. A second dinner at Patti’s!
News from home front: Mackers got a bath after taking a swim in Rob’s Mom’s closed/covered pool. Water is just too tempting for her!
